      Four Seasoned Freelancers Speak About Thier Business We define freelancers as anyone for is self employed, 1099, or work on a contract basis. Everyone from real estate agents, creative, CPAs, developers, solo entrepeneurs are welcome to join as we share knowledge and issues that connect us. We host meetups for freelancers by freelancers: Bring your knowledge, expertise, and questions at our events (and our Facebook group for in-between events). This month, Roy Hsu a former UX/creative director, freelancer and now financial advisor will moderate a discussion with successful freelancers in your community: Advantages and disadvnatages of freelance Setting a business plan and budgetting Marketing and setting rates Taxes and bookkeeping Legal and liability Saving for the future and creating your own benefits Panel: Anna Zheng:Anna Zheng is a UX/UI & Visual designer, artist, and co-founder of a design/development studio called Cozey. With a BA in Gender Studies and professional experience in grassroots organizing, education, project management, and non-profit work, they are passionate about sharing resources, building community, and creating intentional spaces for us to feel supported, empowered, and resilience.   Roger Maggio:Roger Maggio has been a realtor in the Greater Seattle area for over 22 years and is with Windermere. Roger is also the creator of  OktoHub which is a new site allowing busy Realtors to easily and instantly hire other realtors for help with daily tasks. Roger is married to Heather who is a property manager in the tri-county area. They have 3 daughters and are with their softball tournaments, dance performances, and varsity cheer events.    Audrey Godwin:Audrey Godwin is an award-winning financial strategist and champion for Women’s Economic Development. She created the Positioned 4 Profit(TM) System for women leaders to align their finances with the vision, values and priorities for every season of their lives. This not only allows them to keep more what what they make, they can also leave a financial legacy to the people and causes they love. Connect with her at hello@theaudreycompany.com   Taylor Haperin Taylor, a Seattle-based attorney, has provided legal services to the local startup community since 2016.  He has immersed himself in the inner workings of emerging companies -- from board governance and corporate affairs, to employment and intellectual property concerns, to contractual matters and equity financing.  Past clients include Madrona Ventures-backed Matcherino (esports), evoeco (waste management), NEU (vacation rental cleaning), PHH Medical LLC (medical equipment sales), and nube9 (recycled material athleticwear).  Taylor currently works with 2Morrow Inc., Polly, IntuitiveX, and Barker Pitelka PLLC.   Host: Roy HsuRoy is a formerly a Creative Director, UX Designer, and has freelanced on and off for over 20 years. During his career in advertising he came up the ranks in digital creative as a art director to leading creative departments. With a hand in corporate operations, new business and acting in senior level managent positions, this experience lead Roy to become a mentor of startups, businesses and an angel investor and work in the finance world.
