      Feeling challenged by unmotivated students, power struggles, recess problems being dragged into the classroom, no time to teach because you’re constantly dealing with behaviors?   Positive Discipline in the Classroom offers respectful solutions that work long term. “I love how interactive this workshop is and how open and honest we were allowed to be. I felt respected as an educator and human, and I feel empowered and encouraged…” WA State Elementary School Teacher     Tuesday and Wednesday, July 9th and 10th 8:00am – 4:30pm 2100 Building – 2100 24th Ave South, Seattle, WA 98144   Create a classroom/school environment where students feel encouraged and engaged in learning, solve their own friendship issues, and feel a sense of connection, value and challenge.  As an educator you will feel a sense of accomplishment and find your “calm” once more.  Participants will learn the basics of Positive Discipline and will acquire many tools with which to implement this approach. The course is taught experientially so that there is time to practice new tools.   The course is appropriate for teachers, administrators, counselors, paraprofessionals and youth development program providers. Cost:   Employees of Auburn, Northshore, Highline, Everett, Bellingham, Peninsula, and Renton School Districts: $350 General Admission: $425  Early Bird Discounted Price (Deadline June 10): $375   Registration deadline: Monday, July 1, 5pm. If we do not meet our minimum enrollment by this date we will cancel the workshop.     Credit and Clock Hours:  This workshop is eligible for 1 credit ($55) or 15 clock hours ($20) through Seattle Pacific University.  The link to register and pay will be sent to you in an email about a week before the workshop. Be sure to watch for the email and use the link provided to register by the deadline if you need credit or clock hours. Scholarships: The Positive Discipline Association offers need-based scholarships. You must apply by the Early Bird Registration deadline. For more information, click here. Certification & PDA Membership: Upon successful completion of this workshop, you will be certified as a classroom educator by the Positive Discipline Association. Once certified, you will be eligible for a free, 1-year PDA membership. Membership includes an invitation to the annual Think Tank, which is being held this year in Seattle on July 12-14. If you are interested in attending Think Tank, follow the additional instructions included in the confirmation email you will receive upon registering for this PDC workshop. The deadline for registering for Think Tank is June 17th; to attend, you must register by the 17th – even though you won’t be eligible until you complete this workshop. Enter their name and email address on the registration form and they will be entered into our drawing! Refund Policy: A full refund is available if requested a minimum of 15 days before a workshop. Between 14 days and 24 hours prior to a workshop, a 50% refund can be made. Alternatively, registration can be transferred to another individual or to a later workshop in the same year if this is requested at least 24 hours prior to the workshop. Refunds are not available after transfers.
