      Sno-King Community Chorale: Coronation Mass (Krönungsmesse) by Mozart

      The 100 voice Sno-King Community Chorale and SKCC Orchestra present Mozart's Krönungsmesse (German for Coronation Mass) (Mass No. 15 in C major, K. 317; sometimes Mass No. 16). Composed in 1779, the mass is one of the most popular of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 17 extant settings of the Ordinary of the Mass. This setting, like the majority of Mozart's mass settings, is a Missa brevis, or short mass (as opposed to the more formal Solemn Masses or High Mass, known as Missa solemnis). Featured soloists: Jennifer Bromagen(Soprano)- Hailed by the Tacoma News Tribune for her shining coloratura and brilliant high notes, Ms. Bromagen has enjoyed performing in the Pacific Northwest for nearly a decade, having performed as La Contessa di Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro with Bellevue City Opera, with Puget Sound Concert Opera as the title role in Donizettis Anna Bolena, and as the Soprano Soloist in Golijovs She Was Here with the Northwest Sinfonietta. Most recently, Ms. Bromagen performed as Alice in Seattle Operas production of The Wicked Adventures of Count Ory, as well as Violetta in Seattle Operas community previews for La Traviata and covering Die Konigin der Nacht for Seattle Operas production of Die Zauberflote. Ms. Bromagen was an Associate Artist in Residence with Cleveland Opera and performed on their main stage as the First Handmaiden in Turandot, Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and as Edith in The Pirates of Penzance. She has also been seen in such roles as Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia, Amina in La Sonnambula, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Giannetta in Lelisir dAmore, Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium, and Mrs. Jenks in The Tenderland. She has been a featured soloist in concert halls, temples, and cathedrals throughout the U.S., performing solo concert works from Beethovens 9th Symphony, Handels Messiah, Mozarts Great (C-Minor) Mass, Mendelssohns Elijah, and Verdis Requiem. In the 2017-18 season, engagements include a return to the Puget Sound Concert Opera as the title role in Flotows Martha, a return to the Northwest Sinfonietta as the Soprano Soloist for Barbers Knoxville: Summer of 1915, as well as her debut with Pacific Northwest Opera as Antonia in Offenbachs Les Contes dHoffman, and with Vashon Opera as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. Some samples of Ms. Bromagen's vocal talents may be found here: or visit: Sarah Mattox (Mezzo Soprano)- Described as a honeyish mezzo, Sarah Mattox has sung principal roles with Seattle Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Chicago Opera Theatre, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Amarillo Opera, Eugene Opera, Tacoma Opera and many others. Favorite roles include title characters in Carmen and Cendrillon, Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Ottavia in LIncoronazione di Poppea, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel, and Suzuki in Madama Butterfly. She received special acclaim for her debut as Feodor in Seattle Operas Boris Godunov. The Seattle Times said it was newcomer Sarah Elouise Mattox, in the pants role of Boris son Feodor, who raised eyebrows all over the Opera House with her believable, lifelike acting and her well-schooled voice. In Cleveland, the Beacon Journal called her a rich-toned mezzo-soprano who came to life as Dorabella. Also at home on the concert stage, Mattox has made several appearances at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony. She has also been a soloist with the Northwest Sinfonietta, Cascade Festival of Music, Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Helena Symphony, Bainbridge Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Walla Walla Symphony, Portland Chamber Orchestra, Eugene Concert Choir and many others. Mattox has made four appearances as a concert soloist at Carnegie Hall, twice in John Rutters Magnificat under the baton of the composer. Her chamber music group, TangleTown Trio, champions music by living composers, performing frequently across the country, and on radio and television. For details visit , here are samples of Ms. Mattox's artistry: Stephen Rumph (Tenor)- Stephen Rumph has sung widely throughout the Seattle area and beyond in opera, oratorio, and concert. Stephen made his Seattle Symphony debut in Bach's Cantata 171, followed by Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Uematsu's Distant Worlds. Concert appearances include Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with Bozeman Symphony, Spokane Symphony, and Tacoma Symphony; Mozart's Requiem with Walla Walla Symphony and Northwest Sinfonietta; and Haydn's The Creation with Northwest Symphony Orchestra. Operatic credits include Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus) and Rodolfo (La Bohème) with Tacoma Opera, Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) with Washington-Idaho Symphony, Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) and Tamino (The Magic Flute) with Skagit Opera, and Don José (Carmen) with Vashon Opera. Dr. Rumph teaches music history at the University of Washington and has published books on Mozart and Beethoven. Jacob William Herbert (Baritone) - A Portland, Oregon native, bass-baritone Jacob William Herbert has been praised by the Oregonian for his "consummate musicality." While earning his Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Arizona State University, Mr. Herbert had the great fortune to perform with the Phoenix Chorale (formerly the Phoenix Bach Choir) and can be heard as soloist on the Grammy Award winning album, "Spotless Rose: Hymns to the Virgin." Other highlights include a period performance of Messiah with Spire Baroque Ensemble in Kansas City, where the Kansas City Star commended Mr. Herbert's singing as "consistent, high to low." A strong proponent of Bach, he has been on stage with Seattle Baroque and Seattle Pro Musica, Oregon Bach Festival, Festivalensemble Stuttgart, Junges Stuttgarter Bachensemble, Academia Internacíonal Teatro del Lago, and the American Bach Series at All Saints'. Mr. Herbert has toured extensively with the Internationale Bachakademie in Germany, South America, and North Africa. In the Spring of 2015, he returned to Germany to perform with Hans Christoph Rademann in performances of Bach's Osteroratorium, with performances in Stuttgart, and Northern Italy. As an educator, Mr. Herbert is delighted to encourage young solo and ensemble musicians discovering their own path in performance, through clinician work, voice lessons, or conducting/sectional work.
