Seattle Human Rights Day A Celebration Honoring the Seattle Human Rights Commission's 50th Anniversary

Advancement of human rights starts here at home. Learn about local human rights organizations at the City of Seattle's 14th Annual Human Rights Day celebration, which commemorates the December 10, 1948 signing of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year's event will feature Therese Caouette, whose 30-year career has been devoted to assisting refugee and migrant communities in southeast Asia. Through education and enhanced leadership, these communities have developed the opportunity for a better future. The evening will include a celebration of the Seattle Human Rights Commission's 50th Anniversary, as well as the 2013 Human Rights Awards for local individuals and organizations.
