      Lavender Festival

July is a month that brings not only plenty of sunshine (hopefully) but also great opportunities to enjoy variety flowers. The fields near Sequim turn purple as the Lavender Starts blooming there, and it is this area that we will head to explore. There will be limited amount of spots available for this outing which we will share with Seattle Hiking Group so please read following description carefully and only sign if you are serious about joining the outing. Should you find out you can't join us after you sign up, please remove yourself promptly (and no later than 6:00 p.m. the day before the trip) to allow somebody from waiting list to go. Thank you for you understanding. We will meet at the Mountlake Terrace P&R (6101 236th St SW, Mtlk. Terrace WA) at 11:15 a.m. and carpool from there. Make sure to be on time as we need to catch a Ferry to Kingston. Once across the water we will then head to Sequim area. Our first stop will be at the Bandys Troll Haven (http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/1407). If we are lucky we might have an opportunity to get some cool photos there but remember this is a private property and we might not be able to get that chance. From there we will continue onto the Lavender Festival to enjoy all the festivities. (http://www.lavenderfestival.com). This will be primarily photography outing where well try to capture the beauty of the fields and atmosphere of the festival. Non-photographers are welcome as long as they are willing to be patient enough with us trying to get the best shots. We will stay in the area to enjoy the golden hour for photography and the sunset and head back afterwards. Please keep in mind that we will not be back in Edmonds until midnight or 1:00 a.m., depending on which ferry we will be able to catch on our way back. What to bring: -Cash to cover your carpool expense (gas + ferry fare) -Appropriate clothing daytime, nighttime, raingear if forecast calls for rain -Food for the day (remember well be staying late) -Headlamp (Flashlight) -Camera
